Diminishing collagen in the skin’s supportive tissue is considered to be the main cause of the wrinkles that form as we grow older. So it follows that if skin can be stimulated to produce collagen, we should be able to reverse the process and reduce the appearance of wrinkles.

Micro-Collagen^TM is a specially-formulated anti-wrinkle peptide. When applied to the skin in a cream, it penetrates the skin's surface layers, reaching the fibroblast cells—the cells responsible for producing collagen which gives skin its strength—and stimulating the natural production of connective tissue components such as collagen and glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) which are part of the skin’s supportive layer.

Micro-Collagen^TM is a synthetic, micro-fragment of the skin’s most abundant protein, collagen. Mimicking nature’s tissue-regenerating processes, it acts specifically on the cells of the skin’s supportive layer, stimulating them to produce material necessary for padding the skin: connective tissue composed of proteins (collagen I, III and IV) and polysaccharides (glycosaminoglycans and hyaluronic acid).

Collagen IV is especially important for repairing the epidermal-dermal junction (EDJ) that maintains skin elasticity and profile.

Only minute amounts of Micro-Collagen^TM are needed to obtain cellular response. 3 ppm (mg per kg) is sufficient to activate the fibroblasts in the skin.
